DIC Offers Innovative Partner Solutions & Professional Workshops
October 18, 2021, Dubai United Arab Emirates: Dubai Internet City (DIC) returned to GITEX Technology Week for the 21st time this week. GITEX, the largest technology exhibition in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, showcases cutting-edge solutions in areas such as AI, 5G and 4IR as the world’s biggest names in tech converge at the Dubai World Trade Center.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, was greeted at the Dubai Internet City stand by Ammar Al Malik, Managing Director of Dubai Internet City, on the morning of day one of the show.
The Dubai Internet City pavilion comprises two large booths, multiple seating areas for partners, as well as separate stages for workshops.Following nearly 18 months in which digital transformation has come to the fore as the world recovers from a pandemic, GITEX Technology Week 2021 highlights solutions created by the world’s most influential tech giants, start-ups and professionals.
From the future of work to the applications offered by AI, 5G and edge computing, Dubai Internet City partners will be showcasing their most innovative solutions that suit the needs of an ever-changing global landscape as we emerge out of the pandemic into a new normal.
Dubai Internet City has become a cornerstone of Dubai’s economic diversification strategy by welcoming global technology leaders and incubating the region’s innovation pioneers.
A platform for partners
in5, an enabling platform and community for entrepreneurs and start-ups is also hosting start-ups at its stand located in Zabeel 6.
Day one participants included IngenioData, a navigational augmented reality tech start-up; Electrified, an e-mobility marketplace for electric vehicle owners as well as consumers interested in learning about and purchasing an electric car; and Veehive, a mobile-first online streaming community that offers creator’s tools to easily manage and monetise their content.
Meanwhile, five working prototypes designed by students at the d3-based Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation are on display at the stand for the duration of the show. These projects were selected from across disciplines based on their application in the innovation-technology space, and range from a light-based portable COVID-19 social distancing solution to an autonomous robot built to cultivate and seed the desert.
Upskilling opportunities
Education has always been a key mission of GITEX Technology Week, and Dubai Internet City is helping fulfill this objective by hosting a series of workshops at its pavilion throughout the event’s duration.
LinkedIn hosted five workshops over day one of the show. These hour-long sessions covered a range of topics, including how the professional social network works with members and customers; tips for SMEs to maximize their LinkedIn presence; and best practice profile advice for both job seekers and working professionals.
On day two, Huawei Cloud workshops took place. The sessions explained how automation can build enterprise resilience; advice on how to secure your cloud against cyberattacks; and lessons on how the cloud plays a key role in any organisation’s digital transformation journey.
The knowledge being shared at these workshops is tailored to a wide audience, from digital marketing professionals and social media managers looking to enhance their brand’s presence to job seekers searching for their next big opportunity on the platform.
